Some Positives
September 16, 2012, 05:49:47

It's not all doom and gloom in the Bok camp. In spite of the loss, the Boks have given New Zealand a severe wake-up call, and they know it! We bettered them on the ground, which is a significant improvement. Particularly given how desperate McCaw was to push the laws, some of which was his most blatant work to date. Jannie and Beast both stepped up, and Bekker survived a massive physical onslaught, and actually got busy. The biggest feature for me was our defence, it was massive, and New Zealand definitely through everything at us from first second. It's some of the best defensive work I have seen from the Boks for quite some time. We did create opportunities and well and truly had the WC on the ropes. A lost opportunity, but definitely a statement. Goosen's long range effort, though short, was magnificent, and that kind of youthful confidence could be a turning point for the Boks. Still work to be done, but a lot of positives.

Eh, ja-well-now-fine!  Positives does not reflect on the scoreboard.  Had the coach have had a sense he would have made a plan.  Even Meyer Bosman kicks better than Steyn.  Steyn has a serios problem and he is making that problem ours.. At this moment, Goosen, Jantjies and maybe even a few more are way ahead of him.

Hmmm, you completely missed the purpose of this thread and you definitely over shot it on the comparisons. Goosen, and Goosen alone, deserves to play ahead of Morne. There are no other test quality 10s in SA, not a single one aside from these two. It's selections and a mentality like that which destroyed Straeuli's coaching career.

Huge positives come out of this game.

Lets be honest here  the Boks dominated the abs and but for some exceptionally bad goal kcking and  a couple of butchered tries could have won by 20 points or more.

The forwards, missing players like Coenie, Bissie, Etzebeth and Burger from the match 22, outplayed NZ. Our loose trio smashed them and once the tight five are sorted out it will be a very telling advantage,

Front row much improved and we have Coenie and Bissie as wellto come.

Flip came of age and was outstanding. Juandre tried hard but cannot impose himself ast this level. Our two locks are Etzebeth and Flip. Bekker on the bench.

Our loose trio resources are looking good. Vermuelen and Louw were outstnding and have yet to fully hit their straps. Alberts must work on his fitness. With guys like Elstadt, Coetzee and Burger and even wee brussouw it couldnt get better

I have not even mentioned the likes of Du Toit, Kitshoff etc etc the really young guys

Goosen is the man to go to, Pienaar is not shaping. When JP comes back Hougard will revert to scrummie or the bench. He is a dilemma as he has strong and weak points as a scrummie. Definitely a very good wing and a replacement for Habana when he retires.

Kirchner showed in the bungeed try his lack of a rugby brain. He had a reasonable game though. I think we need to try one of Taute or lambie. The sifting by Meyer will continue.

Meyer is making great progress and things are well on track. The forward dominance is coming through. The defence is working. Frans tSeyn is coming to life and had a great game and all we need is some tweaking in the backline.

I do hope folk are feeling as up beat as me.

so yes Card much to be very positive about.

That cat thing voertsek - you are not the know-all and be-all of rugby.  Your personal vendettas are sickening to say the least you fool.

Beeno1 - yes, but the sad part is - like WP against the Sharks - missed opportunities and discipline!  man that bulle front row must be the dumbest oak on the planet oh, except fore this other stupid poster above you.

The players need to gel now - maybe we will win a few at home who knows...

Lunatic, do a little research. Not once, again I say, not once have I ever started any trouble with anyone. What we have here is a group of people who do not like to hear anything they do not like. Mike in particular launched into a rage when called out earlier this year. The format is thus, I make a post, I get insulted, I question the stance of the insulter, only to be further insulted. The more I press for details, the more enraged and personal they become. It has been that way from the beginning; though unlike these one-eyed trolls, I do at the very least give them the opportunity to put forward their case, quite gentlemanly given the circumstances. So do correct yourself, these are not my vendettas, but I will defend myself and my position. If you find that sickening, then you need to have a long hard look at yourself.

Now onto Peno, you still have not ventured into my thread on Morne. You see, you all went into a fit when I said Morne was not the biggest or the only problem in our backplay. Not once did I mention his place kicking during the week, though I did mention I think he is over practicing and needs to relax rather than burn himself out. But to the point. My stance on Morne has yet to be disproven. You can throw mud around all you want, but until you disprove the very words I spoke and my very thread on him, you are in this very instance a liar. And my pregame head-to-heads were not far off either, lol. Keep trying.

Give it Jalepeno - this reclesscat is gone off his rocker and he refuses to take medication.  Maybe if everyone ignores him he will stop posting the same drivel in every other post over and flipping over.

Stormer77 theweak links will be weeded out. Greyling is gone.actuall can play reasoably well but clearly was so pumped when he went on he lost his head.

Goosen times is about here now. I think to Lambie or taute will come into the picture. It will mean we have Hougaard left s the sole bulle player?

As for flip even Moz who does not liek him said he had his best match in a Bok jersey. He was in fact very good - a genuine lock doing a locks job. Personally I am punting Flip and tzebeth as our locks. Both physcial battlers. Pick Bekker if lineouts loom large.

I am very very upbeat at this showing. The future looks very bright.

ou hakwa is seeing things the wrong way round!

Peno, you have got nothing on me. My thread on Morne is one you wish you could sink your teeth into, I know it's not in your nature your nature to be restrained. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for the lot of you. You desperately wish you could tear into that thread, but if you try you know you will lose. Quite the poser, so instead side-step it, and bleat the same garbage repeatedly, who knows, maybe if you say it enough, it will come true! lol. As for biased? How biased can the actual match footage be. Quite foolish of you to even say so. It's clear for all the observers that I have you all in a corner.

Hahahahahaha hakwa. Funny cartoon even if inappropriately used.

The more I dig though the more dirt on the abs emmerge. Bwahahahahahahahaha

By the way that first goal kick by Morne - it was going dead straight for a long way. Suddenly it veered off to the right quite sharply. Couldnt be the wind in this case. Hakwa are you oaks messing with the rugby balls as well?

this is the reason those balls kept veering Beeno - he is alive and well and living in NZ
