Bok lack of depth!
September 10, 2012, 16:13:47

Is it just me or do we have a serious lack of depth in vital positions? We are very thin on QUALITY Locks, Hookers and Props!! Also, if Mvovo is the best option we have on wing, then we have a massive problem there too! On wingers, how long is JP Pietersen out for...cos dammit, we really need him! It just seems to me, that the moment our first choice players are out injured, there is a huge drop in class to the next best replacement. Except for Goosen.

there is no lack of depth but rather lack of development and coaching and its getting badly exposed. basic coaching and errors are there week in and week out.

then you have the coach making rubbish statements that its the players fault and some rubbish excuse that they lack xp. players that performed well in the super comp look just plain ordinary...is it really the players or poor planning and top level coaching ???? its not doom and gloom but i can get alot more out of these players and play a more dynamic style that this rubbish game we are forced to watch.

HM is going to find himself on the unemployment line very soon mark my words. he is getting caught out by the ELV's and has not addapted his style and gameplan to it. players look unfit unskillfull and very very lacklustre.

It is not a case of ELV's, they aren't new anymore! Any coach that has not adapted to them after they have been around for 2/3 years is an idiot....

It is not doom and gloom, as you say, but we really do seem to be running around like headless chickens at the moment.

well to be fair HM has been out of coaching for years before taking this job and if one looks at his tactics and approach of defense only kicking big forwards then it cleary shows the tactics are not a winning one. he keeps on talking about winning rugby but in the modern age winning rugby is high ball posession up tempo rugby. so in effect he is not playing winning rugby because conservative kicking rugby does not win anymore

we are in a transition phase but the direction that these players are in is the part that scares me the most to be honest.
