Clyde Rathbone....
August 22, 2012, 12:36:19

is making a return to rugby. He is currently training with the Brumbies under his old mentor and coach JW. Clyde you will remember suffered from depression and went public about his illness whom many thought  a brave thing to do. His enforced and premature retirement was brought about after a spate of injuries.  At age 31 I'm sure he still has something to offer and I wish him well.

Yes one does wish him well Denny and hope he has solved that depression problem.

I suppose he will try center as at 31 his pace is probably a bit down. Cant see him making a great impact.

Yeah he played centre under Jake White for the Baby boks when he captaind the side. Now he is back under Jake again. I wish him well and hope to see him on the field, if he makes a comeback at 31 it will be one to remember.

Sorry to hear what happened to him.   He was engaged to an Aussie girl - what happened to that one?   That and the Brumby contract was the main reason for leaving to play rugby in Australia.

Have some fond memories of him playing for the Sharks and the Junior Boks and saw him playing a test for Australia in Durban - when the crowd gave him a hard time and he seemed nervous and out of form.

Hope he succeeds in his comeback - but have my doubts as he is already 31 and inhury problems increase with age.   In any event - good luck to him.

I think I'm Jakes biggest fan

besides being a fantastic coach.. he has great people skills and knows how to make each individual that he coaches, feel as if they are the best in the world.

He has the best ability to make a person feel good about themselves... something which is critical when trying to createa winning culture and a winning team.

For Jake to get Clyde out on to the paddock is testiment to this.

Good earlier but way past his best at this stage.

Good luck anyway though Clyde from one expat to another.
