Lloyd is back in Sydney after a lengthy stint in Hong Kong, I'm guessing but it could be 3 years at least. Glyn is going really well and at one time was second in line for the premiership. His son  Chad has a great future ahead of him, the kid is pure  class and is very articulate when facing the media.

And just to piss old Sitting Bull off I'm predicting the slide of his favourite team this weekend. I'm saying the 'Canes are going to clean up that unmentionable team.

I have for many years been a very close friend of the Barendse and Roberts families - they were closely  connected to horseraing in SA.    The daughters of Aubrey Roberts married the jockey Jeff Lloyd and the other one Glen Schofield.   In 2007 the whole family moved to Sydney and I visited them there in 2008.   When I had supper with Denny one evening at a restaurant - Jeff Lloyd walked in to get some takeaways and I intporduced him to Denny.

What Denny referred to here relates to the riding activities of Jeff Lloyd andd Glenn Schofield.   I am still in regular contact with them and I know Lloyd went to ride in Hong Kong since 2009.   The family returned to Australia  in February this year and the moved to a place near Brisbane.   Schfield continued to ride in Sydney and he is at present second on the jockey's top rider list.   In 2011 Schofield's  son Chad became an apprentice jockey and he is highly regarded as a jockey.    That was basically what Denny wrote about.

Incidentally Lloyd was riding some horses on July day in Durban.  I found a foreign telephone number on my phone and thought it may have been Jeff trying to phone me.   Since my cell is limited  to local calls, I phoned his brothjer-in-law in Sydney and he gave me one of the horses ridden by Jeff as a likely winner.    I then took a double with another horse and made a neat little profit of R8 000.

Neer saw the horse ever - the name was War Horse (ridden by Lloyd)  and the reason I backed it was it reminds me of this Board.  The other horse in the Double was Princess Victoria.   Never saw that one either - but I liked old Queen Vic - since I am a historian.     One thing I am sure of - it was neither Pink or Blue - Bulls I mean.   The way they lost against the Sharks - they could not possibly be in any race.
