Tsolikile with 2 eyes!

Get well Bouch! Great servant! Great cricketer!

Your country still needs you! The next best is no better than you are with 1 eye!

Please god not Tsolikile!

Throw young Q de Kock into the couldron! He looks like he could be SA's own verson if GIlly!

Best bet is AB to keep wicket and play an extra bat like JP

May be a bit much for AB to keep for 100 odd overs and then potentially come in at 20 for 2.

I agree with him keeping in ODI's.

I'm always keen to see youngsters show their mettle when thrown in.

... read Q de Kock.

The boy can bat!

I've watched him face off against some decent bowlers! and he's pretty good behind the stumps as well.

...Im not a Vilas, Kuun or Tsolikile fan at all!!

Yeah have seen de Kock play for the SA U19's and he looks a class act, opened the batting for them - attacking bat. Problem is Kirsten wont select him, they will call on Tsolikile who will be a complete passenger given he cant bat.

Therefore as a one off in this series, let AB keep, he comes it at 5, have Rudolph at 6 and JP at 7.

boucher is fine. He is going to get a patch like a pirrate- and is available for selection.

Bad news about Boucher - but he is really getting too old for international selection and a replacement would be necessary.  De Kock may be the answer - definitely not Tsolekile.  The latter was a flop when he was previously selected and only politics could be used to justify his return.

If Boucher cannot play - they should rather call up Faf du Plessis as a batter and play De Villiers as keeper.

It's too early for Quintin, he needs to mature a bit. Still a bit reckless for the test stage :) No problems with him playing T20 though.

Thami has not let his side down this year, not as bad as you will lead us to believe. However Maybe Vilas or Kuhn would have been a better bet. Let's see.

This would also mean technically bouch's international career is over now, as he would have retied after this series. This would mean that he is never going to be the first WC in hstory to get 1000 Dismissals he is currently standing on 999.

Saw this post on supersport by Albert Truter

I think Dane Vilas OR Quinton de Kock should be first inline to replace Boucher.
Both are excellent keepers and can bat. Tsolekile only has a batting average of 29).

In modern day cricket the keepers also need to contribute with the bat. Just think
of Adam Gilchristt @ 47.60, Kumar Sangakkara @56.63, Andy Flower @ 51.54..... All
have high batting averages.

Dane Vilas (2582 runs @ 45.29 average).
Quinton de Kock (945 runs @ 63.00).
Thami Tsolekile (4559 runs @ 29.03).

Hence unless Vilas and De Kock are poor keepers Tsolekile should not get selected. He is also getting on.

Actually Thami is the better Keeper of the lot. De Kock is more a batsman that can keep and Vilas is a better batsman than Thami but Thami is the better keeper. As i said De kock needs time to mature as well as decde if he is going to be a keeper or just a batsman. leave him out of the equation for now.

Vilas and Kuhn are the candidates. and both are better batsmen but not necceserily better keepers than Thami. Tsolekile is the better keeper we have to face that, but not the better batseman. so what do we want in a test? A better batsman or better keeper? It is all relative anyway.

I am sure Thami won't let the team down. Well his great advantage is he doesn't need to bend too far to be at stump height :)

tough call for boucher....on 999 he gets one in the eye. really a freakish accident. hope he recovers soon. i really think they should give de kock a chance. tsolekile is way to old and vilas and kuhn might not be as good as a keeper.....

We cannot afford to go into a test series against a quality side like England, with a keeper who cant bat. My call if for AB to keep in this series, that way we get to include an extra bat like JP who can bowl. Its a win win situation. Stuff messing around with a pretender like Tsolekie - he is kak and not a test cricketers backside
