The teams who've.....
July 02, 2012, 15:04:04

most impressed are the Chiefs(now now Sitting Bull), Brumbies and the Cheetahs. The latter two especially as they are  just a bunch of well coached battlers with no stars. The Stormers and the inconsistent Bulls to a lesser extent, the Sharks are a major disappointment even if they make the final six which I predicted they won't earlier in the year. The Crusaders have lost their aura under the watchful eye of  good referreeing. I'm not exactly sure when the Stormers are going to click into scoring tries, I hope though it's before the end of S15. I don't think the Brumbies will win S15 although they'll give it a good shake, my guess is the winner will come from either the Chiefs or the Stormers.

It's amazing how when Sias came on, the Cheetahs carved up the Bools. Gone were the up and unders....replaced by clever chips which exploited their flat Boolie boy defence.

But to truly impress the Cheetahs have to learn how to defend. How they don't address that aspect beats me.

On the contrary the Stormers need to learn how to attack.........finding the balance seems to be a lot harder than we think..

For me there is only one team, The Chiefs. I can't see the Stormers having enough firepower to beat a team like them. My Bulls have just been too up and down this season for me to be confident of them going all the way, and the same goes for the Sharks.

Cheetahs haven't impressed me - defence has been awful, doesn't take special skills to tackle and execute defensive structures.

Their downfall has been to try and play the open free-flowing rugby - a lot easier to do when the game is over by halftime half the time :)

Defense wins championships - Stormers have the formula right even if some may call it boring.

DENNY???

Hell man, I thought you had been kidnapped by a roo!

Welcome back.

@moz... Yeah i also found it quite funny that the Cheetahs kicked their straps when Sias arrived.

Truth is, he is very classy! He just had a dip in form!

Unlike morne who has the occasional dip into form!

Good luck to him! He deserves better than Drotske has to offer!

I believe that if the Cheetahs got rid of Drotske (PDV would even be an option with their game style) they would end in the top 7 or 8 each year.

They play such good rugby, but lack the finer detail which a coach can bring to the table.

In order for the Cheetahs to challenge, they need to find 2 locks, an 8, 2 centres and a wing.

They are sorted at prop with Coenie, Marcel v/d Merwe and Nkanyane. They have Strauss at 2, two good loosies in Brussouw and v/d Walt. They are very well equipped at 9 & 10 with v/Zyl and Goosen and in le Roux they have a good 15 who can play wing, but lacks real pace for wing. Baby Bok Rhule is one wing solution as is the new addition to the Boks 7's side - name escapes me.

With 5 additional players, the Cheetahs could go places. To think Quinn Roux is off to Ireland, they should have bagged him as they should Baby Boks Willemse and Steph du Toit as lock options. They should grab Taute and Josh Strauss from the Lions and gone after Baby Boks centres Jan Serfontein and Howard.

Imagine a Cheetahs side of:

15. le Roux 14. Rhule 13. Taute 12. Serfontein 11. 7's chap 10. Goosen 9. v/Zyl 1. v/d Merwe 2. Strauss 3. Coenie 4. Willemse 5. Steph du Toit 6. Brussouw 7. v/d Walt 8. J.Strauss

Taute and Josh? LOL

Im assuming that is based on the assumption that there will be no Lions next year?

Why else whould anyone want to move th Bloem?

Couple of things:

Firstly when last have we seen anything like a full strength Stormers side. It has been a tradgedy that the Stormers have had so many injuries. With better fortune in this regard we would be well ahead on the log. Folk would aslo hav ehad a very different view of ou rprospects.

Our chances depend on getting a number of first string player back. Our first string pack is the best in the comp by some way.

As to Naka - he has done BRILILLIANTLY Flash!! Name me another outfit, who so consistently has its best players poached and yet each year produces a team that plays fine rugby and shows a lot of flair. All the Cheetahs need is the money to keep their players. Just bring the Cheetahs players operating elsewhere home and they would be at the top.

Agreed re Sias he is a classy player but realises h ewill play in the shadow of Goosen who is looking like he has the makings of an all time great. Dont blame Naka for that. Sias also had a serious dip - possibly because he did not get game time as a consequence of Goosen being preferred.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet on the Chiefs winning it all.

Stormers are good, Crusaders will give it a go, and teams like the Brumbies, and Bulls will cause havoc, but I think at the end of the day, The Chiefs will come out on top.

Cheetahs are fun to watch, and are competitive, and dangerous, but need to shore up that Defence.

from what I've noticed in my first Super Rugby season ever watched, is as a Stormers fan, I do not want to play any New Zealand team in the Semi finals. 4 out of 5 of those teams can score from anywhere on the field, and can explode for tries at any given moment.

Hey brycy are you enjoying your baby bok status. Far better than being a looser baby black!! Hahahahahaha

As I said to you - isnt it time for a name chance- even blackudder (Toddie) is complaing about the complete incompeence of the plonker Bryce Lawrence. We had to put up with this oak's incompetence and, in addition, blatant bias  - soToddie got off lightly!

Listen you bird brained kiwis if the Stormers get to field their best side and given a fair ref you have no chance of winning the Super comp. The oaks judging the Stormers chances based on our current side are all at sea.

End of story!
